| "Vintage"
shoes are back in a big way with the re-emergence of SWING DANCING. And Stacy Adams, (founded
in 1875 in Brockton Massachusetts, by William H. Stacy and Henry L. Adams),
still hold their Classic "vintage" looks, design and quality, even after 124
years. Today these "vintage", (sometimes called "SPECTATORS" or
"TWO-TONES") shoes are "HOT", like it was the 1930-40's all over
again. Swing dancing is back, bigger than ever, and swing
dancers from all over the country love the "Stacy Adams style". The Dayton, pictured right, is one of the most sought after shoes of new swing dance movement. The classic two-tone wingtip style, also called the "spectator," is a hallmark of the modern swing dancer. The Stacy Adams "Dayton" was one of the first shoes to flaunt this now-classic look. During the 1930''s and the 1940''s, this shoe was worn by many of the top swing-jazz musicians and hep-cats of the time. Recognizing the history of this style, which dates back to the 1930''s, the shoe is still an essential part of the swing dancers' wardrobe along with the Zoot suit and Fedora hat. Today, it's the
shoe of choice of the new swing dancers and musicians who pride themselves on preserving
the American icons of the swing era. The Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Royal Crown
Revue, and the Cherry Poppin Daddies bands all
wear the classic Dayton shoe by Stacy Adams. For them there is no substitute for the
original. See more great "CLASSIC" styles.
